Perth, Feb 28 (IANS) Indian golfer Shiv Kapur scored a 71 to be in the joint 20th position after the third round of the ISPS Handa Perth International at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club here.
Kapur, who has a total of six-under-par 210, is 11 shots behind the leader, Major winner Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa, who will take a three- shot lead into the final round.
Fellow Indian Himmat Singh Rai shot 73 in the Saturday's third round for a three-round total of 214 and a share of the 45th spot.
"Rollercoaster is the best word to describe the week. I had a good start where I started with a six-under and I ended the week with a six-under total. I proud of how I fought back considering the start I had today. There have been lots of positive in the game. I think the long game is pretty good but feeling a little disappointed over the weekend as I didn't hole any putts," Kapur said after his round.
"I'm happy with the way I've been driving the ball. I missed only two or three fairways over the weekend and that's a big positive on a course like this."
At the top of the standings, Oosthuizen made his move with a third round five-under-par 67 to take the outright lead.
Oosthuizen's three-day total of 15-under-par 201 meant he will take a three-shot advantage into the final round of the event which is seeing the return of the Asian Tour to Australia after seven years.
Overnight leader Peter Uihlein of the United States slipped one spot to the joint second place with France's Romain Wattel after he signed for a 71. Local hopefuls Jason Scrivener (205) and Brett Rumford (206) are fourth and fifth respectively.
Current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Marcus Fraser of Australia is bunched in the shared sixth place along with Singapore's Mardan Mamat and Canadian Richard T. Lee.
Oosthuizen started the day one shot back of the Uihlein and Rumford in third place, but surged quickly ahead with a 31 in the front nine. He pulled further ahead with birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, but dropped two shots in his closing three holes to give his closest rivals a glimmer of hope.
Wattel meanwhile, recorded the day's lowest score of 65 with the help of a run of four birdies from the second hole. His flawless run continued with further gains on holes nine, 13 and 14.
