Jaipur, Feb 27 (IANS) The Rajasthan government on Saturday signed 51 MOUs with the private sector for projects worth over Rs.11,500 crore, an official statement said.
These MoUs, which were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje are expected to generate direct employment to over 26,000 people in the sectors of industry, agriculture, urban development & housing (UDH), mining and tourism, said the statement.
"During the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, we signed 295 MoUs amounting to Rs 3.21 lakh crores cutting across sectors. Our aim is to keep the momentum going and continue to facilitate investment in the state," it quoted Raje as saying.
The Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit (RRPS), which was held here in November 2015 saw strategic conferences, panel discussions, round-table deliberations, presentations and one-on-one business meetings.
The government claims that it has cleared investment proposals worth Rs.4,452.81 crore since the summit.
Rajasthan Chief Secretary C.S. Rajan noted that out of the 295 MOUs signed during the summit, in 285 cases, the investors had indicated their land requirement.
"We have already identified land for 239 projects," he said in a statement.
