Nyon (Switzerland), Feb 27 (IANS) The draw for the Europa League Round of 16, held by Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) here, has resulted in an unprecedented English knockout between Liverpool and Manchester United and a Spanish match between Athletic Bilbao and Valencia.
The round will also see a clash between Borussia Dortmund, placed second in Bundesliga, and Tottenham Hotspur, second in Premier League. Defending champions Sevilla, seeking their third consecutive Europa League title and fifth overall, will face Swiss Basel, reports Efe.
The Round of 16 includes teams that have previously won the title including Sevilla (2006, 2007, 2014, 2015), Liverpool (1973, 1976, 2001), Tottenham (1972, 1984), Valencia (2004), Anderlecht (1983) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (1988).
The first leg will be played on March 10 and the second leg on March 17.
