Retired official ousted from CPC for discipline violations

Beijing, Feb 27 (IANS) A former senior official in China's Guangzhou was dispelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for serious discipline violations.

Wu Sha, a former standing committee member of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and head of the municipal Commission for Political and Legal Affairs, will no longer enjoy pensions and other services for retired officials and will have his illegal gains confiscated, Xinhua cited a statement as saying on Friday by the party's disciplinary agency.

According to the agency, he may also face a lawsuit for suspected crime of taking bribes.

An internal investigation found Wu had seriously violated the frugality rules, accepting gifts and cash by himself or via his family members, according to the statement.

He abused his power to help others gain benefits and accepted huge amount of bribes from them.

He had affairs with other women, trading power and money for sex. He also forged identity cards for gambling, it said.
