New Delhi, Feb 26 (IANS) Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday condemned the remarks made by a Trinamool Congress member in the Lok Sabha critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"I am of the opinion that such baseless remarks against the prime minister that he visits states with cash is not correct. I condemn it and request you (speaker) to expunge it from the proceedings of the house," he said.

Participating in motion of thanks to President's address, Trinamool's Sultan Ahmed said: "What is happening today...We never saw Indiraji (Gandhi) going and meeting in different states... We never saw Rajivji (Gandhi) fighting state elections...we also never show V.P. Singh going different states to decide who will be the chief minister...but when Modiji goes in states during elections...."

On the request of Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan expunged the remaining words used by Ahmed.

"I will expunge those words. Those words, which he said, cannot go on record," she said.
