Beijing, Feb 26 (IANS) China has confirmed a new imported Zika case, bringing the total number to six, the authorities announced on Friday.
The National Health and Family Planning Commission said that the patient, a 42-year-old woman from east Zhejiang province, was bitten by mosquitoes while working in Suriname in South America, Xinhua news agency reported.
She returned to China on Sunday and developed an itchy rash but no fever on her way back, according to the commission.
She was confirmed positive on Friday.
The patient is in a good condition and recovering, the commission added.
