London, Feb 27 (IANS) FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge rose by 1.38 percent, or 83.20 points, to 6,096.01 points.
Share price of Glencore increased by 7.95 percent on Friday, topping the gainers of the blue chips, Xinhua news agency reported.
Standard Chartered, Burberry Group, London Stock Exchange Group and Anglo American increased by 7.85 percent, 7.54 percent, 6.95 percent and 6.74 percent respectively.
Royal Bank of Scotland Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 7.13 percent, followed by International Consolidated Airlines Group (3.13 percent), Coca-Cola HBC (2.98 percent), Severn Trent (1.30 percent) and Merlin Entertainments (0.97 percent).
