HUDCO loans Rs 90 crore to AP

New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) The state-owned Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has sanctioned a loan of Rs 90 crore for the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), Lok Sabha was told today.

The loan was sanctioned last month and the legal paperwork for the same is in progress, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Babul Supriyo said in a written reply.

To another query, the minister said 64,942 houses were built for urban poor in Andhra Pradesh under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewable Mission and Rajiv Awas Yojana. Of these, 40,331 houses have been occupied by the beneficiaries, he said.

A total of 80,999 houses were sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh under these schemes, which have now been merged under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (Urban) launched in June last year.

Supriyo said the state government has been asked to finish construction of these houses by March 31 next year.
