Mumbai, Feb 22 (IANS) Actor Ashish Sharma, who is currently seen playing Ram in the popular mythological TV show "Siya Ke Ram", has delayed his spinal cord surgery as he doesn't wish to hamper his shooting schedule.
Ashish is suffering from a severe spinal cord injury which happened when he fell off a horse while shooting for a heavy stunt sequence for the show some time back.
Though Ashish ignored the pain and continued to shoot for the show, the pain surfaced again when he had to perform heavy stunts for an upcoming sequence.
"I prefer doing my own stunts. And initially, it wasnt as painful so I actually didnt bother much. But now, when the pain increased in the last few days, the doctors made me realise about the bad condition of my spinal cord", Ashish said in a statement.
"As of now I have delayed the surgery as I do not want to hamper with my shooting schedule. I have my physiotherapist flying from Mumbai to Hyderabad to help me recover from the pain and Im taking utmost care, this time", he added.
The show is being shot in Ramoji Film city in Hyderabad.
In the upcoming track of the show, Ram (Ashish) will be going into exile. However, Ashish says he is not allowed to give any pressure to his back.
"Im not allowed to give any pressure to my back at the moment, but if needed, I will go through a surgery to avoid trouble in long run. I am now working on my look for the upcoming track, I need to shed some weight and look leaner", Ashish said.
