New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS) After another day of scuffles at the Patiala House Court here on Wednesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the law and order situation in Delhi was "fast deteriorating".

Kejriwal tweeted that he had sought time from President Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the situation in the capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader blasted Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi for "openly flouting SC (Supreme Court) orders" on maintaining peace at the Patiala House Court where arrested JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar was produced -- and sent to judicial custody till March 2.

"Delhi Police openly flouting SC orders. Bassi acting so brazenly. What is (the) source of his confidence? What instructions does he (have) from his bosses?" Kejriwal asked.

Delhi Police does not report to Kejriwal. The Delhi and central governments have been locked in an ugly turf war over issues of governance in the capital.
