‘Fitoor’ Collects Rs.3.61 Crore on Day 1

Mumbai, Feb 13 (IANS) Actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif starrer “Fitoor”, an adaptation of British writer Charles Dickens's novel “Great Expectations”, minted Rs.3.61 crore on its opening day itself.

Made on a production cost of Rs.40 crore, the Abhishek Kapoor directorial is already in a great place financially as the film has already recovered close to 25 percent of its cost, read a statement.

"Fitoor" released on Friday in time for Valentine's Day as it is said to be a romantic saga. However, the film has received mixed reviews.

It will have to perform well on the weekend, says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

“#Fitoor will need huge numbers/jump on Saturday and Sunday to post a decent weekend total. India biz,” Adarsh posted on Twitter.
