Nitish Confident Of Raising Rs.2.72 Lakh Crore for '7 Resolves'

Patna, Feb 9 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said he is confident of raising Rs.2.72 lakh crore needed to implement the "seven resolves" he made in the election that brought the Grand Alliance of JD-U, RJD and Congress to power.

At the first meeting of the 'Bihar Vikash Mission' (BVM) held here, Nitish Kumar told the top officials that his government will raise adequate funds for executing the "seven resolves".

 

BVM has been set up especially to ensure fast execution of the seven resolves of the chief minister in the fields of human skill mission, agriculture mission, human resources development, infrastructural and industrial promotion.

It is headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while ministers and principal secretaries of the departments concerned, the chief secretary, the developmental commissioner, home and general administration and the state police chief are its members.

Also made a member is election strategist Prashant Kishor, who has recently been appointed as advisor to the chief minister for planning and implementation of developmental projects.

According to officials, the "seven resolves" would cost Rs.2.72 lakh crore over the next five years.

"Nitish Kumar also directed officials to give their output on the seven resolves and be ready to implement them with a goal to complete the target," they said.

The "seven resolves" include Rs.4 lakh loan credit card for students, a monthly allowance of Rs.1,000 for eight months twice in two years for students to help them search for jobs, free Wi-Fi facility in colleges and universities, setting up a venture capital fund of Rs.5,000 crore for young entrepreneurs, toilets in all households and free drinking water and electricity connections to every household.
