Chennai, Jan 29 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa on Friday inaugurated and also laid the foundation stone for various manufacturing facilities involving a total outlay of Rs.10,054 crore, an official release said.
According to the statement, Jayalalithaa inaugurated different manufacturing and research facilities set up at a total outlay of Rs.3,636 crore through video conferencing from the state secretariat here.
The facilities inaugurated were: tyre maker MRF Ltd expansion at Rs.1,200 crore; Welspun Renewable Energy's solar power project at Rs.975 crore; Samsung India Electronics expansion at Rs.450 crore; solar power project set up by SunEdison at Rs.300 crore; footwear maker Growth Link Overseas (Rs.100 crore); Takasago makers of flavours and fragrance Rs.61 crore; Saint-Gobain group Rs.300 crore and Saint Gobain Research India Rs.250 crore.
Jayalalithaa laid the foundation stone for the factories to be set up under Apollo Tyres expansion project (Rs.2,700 crore), MRF expansion (Rs.1,431 crore); Saint-Gobain's glass unit expansion (Rs.800 crore); ITC Ltd for making consumer goods and logistics (Rs.677 crore), Lotus Footwear (Rs.360 crore), TVS Motor expansion (Rs.350 crore) and Sheng Long Bio Tech (Rs.100 crore).
