Washington, Jan 27 (PTI) The US state of Nevada will open a new tourism office in New Delhi to promote its travel and tourism sector in India, an official said.
Nevada Lt Governor Thomas Hutchinson before embarking on an India trip for its launch said: "Opening an office in India will provide Nevada with greater opportunities to promote international travel and tourism to our state".
He said the state has 6.5 per cent share of the Indian travel market and the research indicates that the top reasons for travel from India is to visit family living the US, an area where we actively market the state.
"We currently enjoy 6.5 per cent of the India travel market share here in Nevada. With a new office in New Delhi, I am confident that our increased presence will encourage even more tourists from India to visit the Silver State," Hutchinson said.
He said the maximum annual budget for an international travel to an Indian is USD 5,451 and they prefers staying in mid-priced hotels and want to experience duty free shipping.
