Beijing, Jan 26 (IANS) China's fifth Madame Tussauds wax museum will open in the Chongqing municipality area, authorities said on Tuesday.
Wax effigies of Prince William and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, were displayed since last week in the city as a promotion for the upcoming museum, Xinhua reported.
It will have sections devoted to Hollywood stars, sportsmen and women and celebrities from around the world, an official said.
The museum will be built by Britain's Merlin Entertainment Group which also plans to open an aquarium and a Lego adventure park in the city.
With a history of over 200 years, Madame Tussauds has already opened in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan, with statues of celebrities including Jackie Chan, Yao Ming, Bill Gates and David Beckham.
