Los Angeles, Jan 18 (IANS) Actress Rowan Blanchard, known for playing Riley Matthews on TV series "Girl Meets World", surprised her fans as she talked about her sexuality on digital platforms.
The 14-year-old actress told her fans that she identified herself as a queer rather than as a straight or gay on January 15 on Twitter, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The actress posted on social media a screenshot which read: "In my life-only ever liked boys however, I personally don't wanna label myself as straight gay or whatever so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with - just existing."
Blanchard captioned the image: "Aye!"
Realising that she didn't put comma between the words "straight" and "gay", she tweeted: "Omg I forgot to put a comma between straight and gay pls don't kill me."
She then explained why she identified herself as queer.
"Open to liking any gender in future is why I identify as queer," she wrote.
She was also aware of the consequences of coming out as queer.
She said: "Like I thought I was being brave and was proud of myself and then everyone attacks me... Cool."
