We are hearing about the combination of Superstar Mahesh Babu with sensational director AR Murugadoss right now after the project has been materialized. But do you know the combination was in making for 11 years? Check out the story.
It all started with Ghajini which director Murugadoss wanted to remake with Superstar Mahesh Babu. He arranged a special show for Mahesh Babu through producer NV Prasad. Superstar liked the film immensely and predicted it to be a Super hit. On working with the director, he preferred to do a straight film instead of a remake.
Director AR Murugadoss had first met Superstar Mahesh Babu on the sets of Pokiri during the shoot of the song “Chudodantunna..”. It was then the star director narrated the story ideas of Thuapakki and 7th Sense to Mahesh Babu. They met second time again during the shooting of Holiday (Thuppakki Hindi remake with Akshay Kumar). Again they bounced off ideas but nothing went forward due to prior commitments.
Things finally took a positive turn during their third meet which happened when Superstar Mahesh Babu was in Chennai for Selvandan (Srimanthudu Tamil version) promotions. The line that Murugadoss narrated got Superstar excited tremendously and finally a go-ahead was given. Murugadoss promised to make it bigger by turning it into a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil.
The film in their combination was finally officially locked with Harris Jayaraj for music and Santosh Sivan as cinematographer. The director is working round the clock to finish the bound script by February so that the film launches in time for summer. The combination is already generating tremendous hype and all box office records are expected to shatter when it hits the screens eventually.
