Mumbai, Jan 15 (IANS) Actor Purab Kohli, who will be seen in the forthcoming film "Airlift", says jewellery and make-up helped him to get into his character in the film.
Purab will be seen sporting a rugged look for his role as Ibrahim Durani, a small town man from India who works in the Middle East.
"The jewellery of Ibrahim in 'Airlift' is an integral part of his character - the rings, even the kajal (kohl) under his eye and most importantly the taaveez (amulet) that he wore... Just wearing all these elements helped me lots to get into the character," Purab said in a statement.
The actor credited his make-up artist for getting one of the jewellery element on the "right level".
"The 'taaveez' particularly took up a lot of time, because just getting it on the right level was important. My make-up artist Raj was responsible for making sure it was tied at the same level and used to mark it every day as that is where it goes," he said.
"Airlift" is inspired by the evacuation of Indians who were based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war and stars Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in key roles. It will release on January 22.
