Thane (Maharashtra), Jan 13 (IANS) Ritika Singh, who is making her Bollywood acting debut with "Saala Khadoos", is "proud" of the achievement of batting world record holder Pranav Dhanawade, who studies in her alma mater, SMT.K.C. Gandhi English High School in Kalyan.
"What he has done is great...! It's a world record... I am proud and told several of my friends," Ritika, a national-level kickboxer, said during the promotion of her debut film on Tuesday night.
"My best wishes are with him. He can do wonders," she added.
"Saala Khadoos" is a bilingual sports drama film, written and directed by Sudha Kongara.
Ritika features as an aspiring boxer and actor R. Madhavan as her coach in the movie.
On January 5, 15-year-old Pranav, a Class X (SSCE) student and son of an auto-rickshaw driver, created history by scoring a mammoth unbeaten 1009 runs in 323 balls -- with 129 fours and 59 sixers -- in an inter-school cricket tourney while playing against Arya Gurukul School in Kalyan.
He won accolades from across the spectrum including Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, who later sent his autographed bat to encourage Pranav.
