Kolkata, Jan 7 (IANS) Asserting that all states were part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Team India', Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday spoke about the importance of all working collectively for the success of the team.
Besides Prabhu, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and a host of industrialists attended a dinner hosted by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the eve of the Bengal Global Business Summit.
"Our prime minister has been talking about Team India and all the 29 states are part of that team, be it West Bengal or Karnataka or Tamil Nadu. Only when we all work collectively, will India win much like our cricket team won against South Africa," Prabhu told media persons here.
Hoping to draw huge investment commitments from both domestic and international industry captains, the two-day business summit begins here on Friday.
ITC chairman Y.C. Deveshwar exuded confidence of the summit's success.
"From ministers to industrialists, already so many people are in attendance here. A job well begun is job half done. It surely augurs well for Bengal. This signifies that people are interested in Bengal," said Deveshwar.
Besides, Jaitely and Prabhu, union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal would also be part of the summit.
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, Essel group chairman Subhash Chandra, Godrej group chief Adi Godrej are also expected to be present.
