Panaji, Jan 7 (IANS) A Goa court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to pop star Remo Fernandes, accused of verbally abusing a minor girl in December last year.
Vandana Tendulkar, president of the Goa Children's Court, ordered Remo to submit a personal bond of Rs.50,000 and to report to the investigating officer in the case for 10 days.
The musician was also asked to surrender his passport to the court.
Remo was booked under the Goa Children's Act on the charge of verbally abusing the girl on December 3 after she was hospitalised following a road accident involving the pop star's son.
The police had issued a lookout notice after the singer, who was holidaying in Europe when the first information report was registered, failed to respond to two police summons.
Padma Shri awardee Remo was booked under Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act, a special legislation specifically dealing with crimes against children in the state.
