Funeral Of MotöRhead Frontman Lemmy to Be Broadcast Live

Los Angeles, Jan 7 (IANS) The funeral of legendary Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister will be broadcast live on the band's official YouTube channel on Saturday.

Lemmy, who passed away at the age of 70 following a battle with "an extremely aggressive cancer" in December 2015, will be buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood, read a post on the band's official Facebook page.

"On Saturday, January 9, the world will come together and celebrate the life of our friend, and legend, Ian 'Lemmy’ Kilmister.

"Family and close friends will observe a service at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Hollywood, commencing at 3 p.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time) and ending at 4.30 p.m," read the post alongside a photograph of Lemmy.

Following the musician's death, the iconic British heavy metal band's drummer Mikkey Dee had announced that Motörhead was "over".

"Motörhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motörhead. We won't be doing any more tours or anything. And there won't be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone," Dee was quoted as saying by Sweden's Expressen newspaper in December last year.
