Savsjo (Sweden), Jan 6 (IANS) Commonwealth Games gold medal winning shooter Apurvi Chandela set a new record to finish on top of the women's 10-metre air rifle event at the three-day Swedish Cup Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old from Jaipur on Tuesday shot 211.2 in the event here at the Savsjo Shooting Centre. She surpassed Chinese Olympic gold medallist Yi Siling's mark of 211.
Chandela, seventh in the world rankings, has already qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics last year, having won the bronze in the 10m air rifle event in the World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) in Changwon, South Korea.
Swedish shooters Astrid Steffensen (207.6) and World No.11 Stine Nielsen (185.0) won silver and bronze respectively.
