Hyderabad, Dec 29 (IANS) The second edition of the All Light India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) and Indywood Film Market will be held at the Ramoji Film City here from August 17 to 21, 2016, the organisers said on Tuesday.
The event will witness participation from the global film and media fraternity like producers, directors, exhibitors, buyers, sales agents, stuntmen, and equipment manufacturers among others.
Project Indywood, a project for film industry professionals, announced this here on Tuesday.
The event aims at providing a platform for the global film industry to portray excellence in filmmaking and aids to inspire, nurture and integrate the Indian cinema industry.
The event will showcase the best and most innovative new films.
The film festival will witness participation from more than 70 countries, 1,000 international delegates, 3,000 film market delegates and more than 1,500 film submissions.
"We see tremendous opportunities for the Indian film industry due to the variety and the depth the industry offers. Indywood will enable the Indian film industry to bridge the existing gap and help Indian films to be made for a global audience," Indywood founder director S.K. Sohan Roy told reporters.
He noted that while India has the largest number of theatres and produces the largest number of films across many languages, the average realisation per ticket in India was $1 compared to the global average of $10.
He attributed this to lack of use of technology and non-integrated regional functioning of the ecosystem.
Ramoji Rao, group head of the Ramoji Group, said the event would help the Indian film industry reach the next level and compete with global players.
The first edition of the event was held in Kochi last month.
