Panaji, Dec 29 (IANS) Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, one of the Swachh Bharat ambassadors appointed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has penned a poem, a slogan and a pledge for students on the importance of cleanliness.

The poem and pledge penned by Sinha, a litterateur and a Sahitya Akademi Award winning writer, will now be posted on the main entrances to government departments to increase awareness levels about the Swachh Bharat campaign, a government spokesperson said here on Tuesday.

"Copies of these messages have been sent to some government departments for being printed on banners to be placed at the entrances so that those who pass by can read the same," the spokesperson said.

The official also said that the messages penned by Sinha would also be sent to members of coordination committees which the governor had constituted for making Panaji, Mapusa, Ponda, Margao and Vasco as model cities of cleanliness.

"The governor wishes that all these agencies may give adequate publicity to these messages, which will help in creating awareness among the people about the relevance and need of cleanliness at all places," the spokesperson said.
