New Delhi, Dec 26 (IANS) National carrier Air India on Saturday clarified that it had not decided to discontinue non-vegetarian meals aboard its domestic flights of 60 to 90 minutes flying duration; rather it never served it for that duration.
Air India clarified it is only upgrading the current cold vegetarian snacks to proper hot vegetarian meals.
"Air India to now serve proper hot vegetarian meals in economy class on domestic sector flights with a duration of 60 to 90 minutes from 1st, January 2016," the airline said in a statement on Saturday.
However, the statement kicked up a major row online drawing criticism from numerous people across the nation who thought Air India was discontinuing non-vegetarian meals.
"There will be a review after obtaining passengers' feedback. On flights exceeding 90 minutes, the present choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals will continue," the airline added.
