Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (IANS) Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Thursday created a 45-feet-high sand 'Santa Claus, arguably the world's tallest such sculpture at a beach in Puri town.
The sandy Santa Claus at the state's Puri beach carries a message of "World Peace", the artist said here.
"I have appealed to the Limca Book of World Records to place this record in their book. We broke our own earlier record," he said, adding he used more than 1,000 tonnes of sand in the sculpture.
Pattnaik, who was assisted by 20 of his students at the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute of Puri, took 22 hours in two days to build the mammoth structure, which will be on display from December 24 to January 1, 2016.
Patnaik had in 2011 created a 35-feet-high Santa Claus.
