New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) A few BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday offered roses to Congress members in the lower house who were demanding the dismissal of the BJP-SAD government in Punjab over atrocities against Dalits.
Some Congress members trooped near Speaker Sumitra Mahajan's podium after she rejected notice for adjournment of Question Hour as demanded by the opposition members.
The protesting Congress members raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party government in Punjab over the chopping of limbs of two Dalit men in Abohar district of Punjab.
As Congress members continued their protest, some BJP members approached them and offered roses. The Speaker said this was not allowed in the house. Some other BJP parliamentarians then asked their party members near the podium to take their respective seats.
The Speaker went ahead with Question Hour despite the protest.
