Los Angeles, Dec 14 (IANS) Model Suki Waterhouse says she was "such a tomboy" during her growing up years, and that she didn't really come to be interested in beauty until she joined the fashion industry.

"My earliest beauty memories are all of really messing it up - trying to shave my legs when I was 10 years old and being yelled at, or having a unibrow and trying to shave that, too. I really wasn't very clued-up as a young girl," Waterhouse told The Sunday Telegraph's Stella magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"It took me being in the beauty industry for a while to work it out, in fact. I didn't have much of an interest prior to that because I was such a tomboy growing up," she added.

The model said she has learnt that "less is more" when it comes to make-up and says she feels most beautiful when she's not got a lot of make-up on.

"I feel quite relaxed about it now. You start to realise there are a couple of tips and tricks that can really help, but I always feel more beautiful wearing less make-up. The best thing I've learnt since being in the industry is that less is more. Beauty for me is a lot more about feeling my most comfortable," Waterhouse said.

"People always ask me things like 'What do you like wearing for a date?' but being in clothes I can move in and not having too much on my face is more important for me. Just feeling more like my actual self," she added.
