Gwyneth Paltrow’s Luxury Pop-Up Store in New York Robbed

New York, Dec 8 (IANS) Actress Gwyneth Paltrow's pop-up store Goop, which housed luxurious items, was robbed here.

According to the law enforcement sources, more than $173,000 worth of items were stolen from the store. The robbery took place on December 5.

According to the New York Police department, three men forcibly opened a cabinet full of merchandise. Learning of the theft, the store staff immediately called 911.

Unfortunately, the men managed to leave the store before police arrived. An investigation is still going on. The perpetrators will face grand larceny charges, reports people.com.

"There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD," a Goop spokesperson said in a statement.

"While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place," it added.

The theft happened less than two weeks after Paltrow opened the store.

She previously opened pop-up stores in Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas. For her store here, the 43-year-old actress upped the shop's luxury items, featuring a collaboration with Valentino and its design team, Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
