Telangana Moots Chinese Industrial Park

Hyderabad, Dec 5 (IANS) The Telangana government on Saturday offered to allot 500 acres of land for a Chinese industrial park.

Speaking at the meeting with the trade mission from Hunan province of China, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), state Industry Secretary Arvind Kumar said the state was keen to have a large group of Chinese SMEs at the industrial park.

The 25-member delegation comprising representatives from both government and industry from Hunan province discussed the business opportunities with Telangana.

He Baoxiang, vice governor of the province, said they can work together in the areas of technology, education and culture.

Telangana Industry Minister Jupally Kirshna Rao expressed interest in signing a MoU between the state and Hunan to establish a sister-state relationship and work in the areas of tourism, culture, education and industry.

Sino-India Education & Technology Alliance chairman Sathya Moorthy said the two states can have a smart partnership while CII Telangana chairperson Vanitha Datla pointed out that there is immense scope to strengthen the relations between India and China, especially through trade and business with Telangana.
