Turkey to Regret Shooting down Russian Jet: Putin

Moscow, Dec 3 (IANS) Turkey will regret many times for shooting down a Russian Su-24 fighter jet near the Syrian-Turkish border, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday in his annual State of the Union address to the Federal Assembly.

Accusing the Turkish leadership of supporting terrorism, Putin said Russia is aware of who in Turkey was earning money from illegal oil trade and abetting terrorism, Xinhua reported.

Meanwhile, the Russian leader noted that Russia considers the Turkish people friendly, and that Moscow has no intention to engage in saber-rattling with Ankara over the downing of Russian jet.

In a signal of imposing more sanctions against Ankara, Putin said Turkey will not just suffer from limitations on agricultural products and construction companies.

Russia has slapped a set of sanction measures on Turkey in response to Ankara's refusal to make any apology for the incident.

Currently, there were no signs of any rapid recuperation of the ties between the two countries.
