TASC Deepawali Celebrations in Los Angeles

Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC) celebrated Diwali 2015 in a very grand style on Nov 14th at Centinela Valley Performing Arts Auditorium in Los Angeles.

More than 800 people attended the event inspite of having many local events like All Stars cricket match on the same day. TASC continues to draw a huge audience for all the events of the year, thanks to it's loyal members and quality programs.

Diwali festivities started with lamp lighting by Executive Committee and a devotional song by Publicity Chair Praveen Alla. The primary focus and motive of TASC is always to promote local talent and provide a platform for kids to showcase their skills and at the same learn our rich Telugu language and traditions.

More than 120 kids from all over Southern California participated in a variety of cultural programs which included classical dances, folk songs and some sensational dancing by young kids to the latest movie songs.

Audience were impressed with the cute and bubbly performances by small kids especially 3 to 5 years old kids. Most of the dances were choreographed by parents themselves.

Highlight of the show were super singers Dinakar, Sameera Bharadwaj and mimicry by Ramesh. They added star attraction and entertained the audience with some vibrant songs including latest hits from Bruce Lee.

Overall it was a very entertaining program and everyone enjoyed the event. A very delicious meal was also served during the event.

President Mallik Bonthu thanked the TASC members, donors and volunteers  for their tremendous support throughout the year. Their energy and encouragement provided inspiration to conduct successful events in 2015. He requested them to provide the same kind of support next year also and further strengthen this 46 years old organization.
