New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS) Pop star Justin Bieber’s album "Purpose", which released on Friday, has topped charts within hours of its release.
It's the number one best selling album on Amazon India. It hit the second spot on iTunes India Charts within two to three hours of its release.
It also hit number one in 89 countries including his home country Canada on iTunes Charts.
The pop star had also reached out to his Indian fans on social media by offering merchandise on album pre-order.
The launch of the iTunes pre-order last month saw "Purpose" shoot to number one on the iTunes Top Album chart in over 90 countries.
“The build up to 'Purpose' has been simply incredible. With two smash hits in ‘What do you mean?’ and ‘Sorry’, Justin is truly back with a bang. His fans out here have been restlessly waiting for the new album to drop and today (Friday) it reflects on charts in India," Devraj Sanyal, managing director and CEO, Universal Music Group South Asia, said in a statement.
"Purpose" is available on Universal Music India across both digital and physical formats.
