NCP Not to Support BJP-Led NDA: Tariq Anwar
Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar told the media here that there was no question of NCP extending support to NDA but it may have a re-think to join the grand-alliance of JD-U, RJD and Congress.

"NCP is not going to support the BJP-led NDA after polls outcome to help it to form the next government in case the Grand Alliance did not get the majority," he said, expressing hope that his party would win some seats.

Last month, the NCP walked away from the Third Front to contest the assembly elections on its own.

The Sharad Pawar-led NCP's decision to walk out of the Third Front was a major set back for Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, the main party of the Third Front.

The NCP had initially joined hands with the Samajwadi Party, Janadhikar Party of Pappu Yadav, Samras Samaj Party of former union minister Nagmani, Nationalist Peoples Party of former Speaker P.A. Sangma and Samajwadi Janata Party of former union minister Devendra Prasad Yadav to form the Third Front.

Prior to that, the NCP had parted ways with the Grand Alliance comprising the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress due to differences over seat-sharing.
