China’s GIIC Evinces Interest in Capital Construction

A delegation led by Guizhou International Investment Corp. (GIIC) vice-president Tang Changwel met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today.

During their meeting with the Chief Minister, the delegates informed the Chief Minister that they have expertise in infrastructure and shared their experience of constructing Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province of Southwest China.

Mr. Changwel informed the Chief Minister that the core infrastructure in Guiyang was completed in just 1.5 years by the company.

At this juncture, they informed the Chief Minister that they are interested to be part of Amaravati's construction. They also told the Chief Minister that they have toured the villages in the capital region and are interested to construct CM Office, Secretariat and Hotels in the Capital.

Recalling his meeting with Chief Minister in China, Mr. Changwel said that GIIC has signed an MoU with Kakinada SEZ Pvt. Ltd (KSEZ), a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, to develop an industrial park in 2,000 acres with an investment $500 million.

Responding to Mr. Changwel, the Chief Minister suggested GIIC to ensure that students from universities and engineering colleges from the State are trained by them under the Skill Development programme in order to make them industry-ready.

Union MoS for Science and Technology Y.S. Chowdary was also present in the meeting.
