Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to speed up the process to provide internet, television and telephone services to every home in Andhra Pradesh by March next year. He held a teleconference with the officials of fibre grid, INCAP and electricity here on Wednesday
The Chief Minister wanted the officials to complete the process by December to provide these services in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts by December and cover the remaining districts by March 2016.
He said that the fibre grid worth Rs 333 crore was taken up in the State to provide three services to every door step.
He said AP was the first State in the country to have taken up such a mega project and revealed that it would pass through over 3.5 lakh polls covering 30,000 kilometres in AP.
Chief Minister congratulated the APTransco officials for bringing down the transmission losses of the power supply and asked the officials to bring down the losses to 9 percent from the present 10.37 percent.
It can be recalled that the State introduced 65 lakh LED bulbs in the households and 2.2 lakh bulbs in the street lighting to bring down the consumption.
Chandrababu Naidu said that the government also decided to use solar power for 2,500 agriculture motor pumps sets in East Godavari district on a trial basis. The project would be extended to rest of the State once the pilot project is successfully implemented.
