Hyderabad, Oct 28 (IANS) Global technology giant IBM and the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) have signed a MoU for a provision of technology platforms and services in cloud computing for academia in Telangana.
Officials of TASK and IBM India Private Ltd., signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Wednesday in the presence of state Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao.
IBM and TASK have agreed to collaborate in bringing the IBM cloud experience to the engineering colleges in the state, an official statement said.
Faculty and students thereby, get access to the IBM cloud and an opportunity to develop their cloud skills that are in demand in the IT industry today, it added.
The IBM launched Bluemix in 2014, growing rapidly to become the largest cloud foundry deployment in the world. The open-standards-based Bluemix platform includes over 120 tools and services spanning categories of big data, mobile, Watson, analytics, integration, DevOps, security and Internet of Things.
Sujiv Nair, chief executive officer, TASK, said the key focus of this engagement is to make the IBM cloud available to colleges in Telangana for faculty and students to use it for practicals and project work.
TASK is working for a collaboration platform between the government, academia and Industry to enhance skill, research and entrepreneurship among young graduates in the state.
